Plant List

Designing a garden is an endeavor both scientific and creative.  The scientific gardener evaluates a site's potential by considering existing plants, soil type and drainage, available sunlight and shade, wind exposure and other environmental factors.

The creative gardener selects and arranges plants based on pleasing color, form and texture combinations, while never losing sight of the garden's purpose, which might be to create beauty, produce food or perhaps serve as scenery for outdoor living.  As your garden's design evolves over time, constantly be aware of changes or improvements that can make your landscape fit your lifestyle.

Garden design is a series of choices.  If we understand fundamental site analysis and the basic intention of the garden or what feeling it invokes we can make better choices as we go about planning our own little piece of paradise.
